I wonder, does somebody compare xcd65mm vs xcd55v lenses? I'm considering selling/buying based on size and weight, but I'm worried about the optical qualities of xcd55v.

I am interested, too. I am very happy with the 65 (practically no optical distortion, excellent rendering,...), but it is a little bit heavy and bulky.

Probably already known:
on this site are some hi-res pictures (click on upper right) with the 55v:

Especially the right side of this picture

seems odd – like camera shake? But why not on the left side?

55v is half the weight of the 65, that is what I like, too.
Optically, the 65 is hard to beat. But would we see possible optical differences without a direct comparison (we wouldn't do that with every shoot—and really all the XCD lenses are really good, right?)?

I'm torn, too. Especially, since I would take the 45P into that comparison, too: just 10mm less, so for me the 55v could replace both 45P and 65.

55 near to 60 and near to 45,  but 45 definitely not near to 60 😄

If you had a 55v, would you then keep a 45P, too?
For me, regarding focal length, too close. (In size & weight, too.)

Just came back from a test walk with 38v vs 45p and 55v vs 65. Need some time.

Interested in a XCD 65?

Regards!

And not have (or sell) the 30, then? ;)

The 55v is 1.5 time more expensive than the 65mm. It is lighter, that's true. But other than that?
I forgot the 2.5 against the 2.8, if this is important.

Just smaller and lighter + maybe has a quicker focus. 2.8/2.5 I don't think it is so important.

I really don't know, if the 55v ist really faster focussing. The 65 is pretty quick. But the 55v is WAY quieter when focussing, that may give the impression of being faster.

Btw it is quite difficult to understand the price point for the new lenses and why they are so expensive.

A significant difference is the aperture ring, and the fast switch between autofocus on and off. It makes the camera a lot faster to work with. I have the 55v (not the 60). I have 21,30,45p,45, 80, 120,135. I am possibly buying all three V lenses just because of this.
