Phocus feature requests

I'd like to see that Phocus runs not in the "Always on Top" mode in Windows. When using Phocus one has to press the Windows key on one's keyboard to get access to the Taskbar when the Taskbar is in Autohide mode. All other programmes I use give access to the Taskbar when one brings the cursor down to the bottom of the screen. It pops up when the cursor is brought down. But not Phocus.

It's not the end of the world, but it would be convenient.  ;)

All the best.

It's bee a while since I've been on but we run a production studio and stay busy all the time. Phocus is built for fashion and advertising more so than Flex was so when they built Phocus they left out features we use every day that make life much easier.

Flex had a much better crop tool. It was simplistic and a little crude but is was much more functional than that of Phocus. One could set exact sizes and lock them in and then change the size of the crop while keeping the output size the same. It was so much easier to use all the elements were right there, no sub-menus.

The Histogram in Phocus is all but window dressing when applied to production work. In Flex the Histogram had eye droppers that allowed for the precise selection of highlight and shadow value and brought them in line with preset values. Again this is invaluable in production, especially when you deal with proofers and outside print vendors.

I have been asking for these changes for years and at this point I am of the mind that Hasselblad is Deaf to suggestions, unless they have already decided in advance to add a particular option. At which point they announce they are listening and have added a new feature based on our input.

Sorry for the cynical tone, but it has been years and we are still having to use Flex 70% of the time.

The Hassys are promoting Adobe Lightroom quite a while... you get the picture?  :o

I get the picture...Buy third party software because Hasselblad is to snooty to pay attention to it's customers. Maybe we'll flood the market with all of our used Blad equipment and go with someone else. C1 is fully functional!

@Stonemonkey:

I second your opinion about 'left-out features'...
Those eyedroppers are really useful and needed.   :(

@Domip

It's nice to know we're not the only ones! Thanks

99% of what I shoot is multi-shot. Allow me to process my MS files in Lightroom or Capture One and I'll never complain again, honest!  ;)

Meanwhile, is the white balance tool in Phocus (and Flex, for that matter) single pixel (which I suspect it is) or a 5 x 5 or 10 x 10 sample?

If they're single pixel, I would like them to be like LR, i.e. multi pixel and visible.

I really would love to have the possibility to make notes to the pictures, as I'm sending them to my retoucher, so he can see my instructions on an image.

Hi there,

Most of the subject matter I work with is technical shapes and colours (so you can guess what I'm gonna be asking for  ::)), and I agree so much with the above (especially about Flexcolor's more superior tooling):

Ideally we could really do with:
Adjustable Crop constraints (sizing, resolution and definable measures) - with the ability to correct keystoning and perspectives (one thing I really like about C1).
Rulers and measurements around the edges.
More definable options for the Neutralization tool and added tools for setting highlight, midtone and shadows positions in the image
A far more developed precise and manoeuvrable Curves tool including the capability of manipulating individual RGB channels - Hasselblad RGB is a massive colourspace! it'd be great to be able to harness it more ;D
Camera timer control: A different one I know but hey, if we are tethering from a laptop we might as well have power at our fingertips: Timed and sequenced exposure controls for interval and time lapse etc would be v. useful!
Is it possible to compress the RAW files even more (especially the Multishot files)?
Being able to add notes to the RAW files for the studio or retoucher - would be a major time saver in post production problems considering how more and more is now being sent for remote editing.
Lastly - Exporting - In Flex we can choose different profile rendering intents, can we have them in Phocus please (Perc/Rela/Abso/Sat).

Also I'm not sure if this is Phocus or just the H3DII  but does anyone else get this: when doing a Live View in one orientation, photographing and then rotating to the other and doing Live View again; I get the view seen through the former unupdated orientation (until I reboot the setup), is this Phocus??

Phocus is really improving though from the earlier versions, is a lot more stable and lighter (and is free), thanks!
