Image Variance Between Aperture Priority and Full Auto

By the time I can pull my old Sekonic out and take a reading I can also take about 20 shots at different exposures and select the one I like in post. Lightmeters make little sense in natural light mirrorless photography unless one just likes the process of using them and slowing down. Which is a great reason......

My meter(s) are actually currently hanging off a light stand, where they should be.

You are funny, you remind me of an old photo buddy from decades ago, that once was so very. very blessed ...
Had an inherited studio, most-magnificent, that ran for half of the top of a block Old-street in central London!

Would often be commissioned to appear out in the Gulf and shoot assignments for the "Ministries of Information" out there ...

What was always highly amusing was this (and this in the days of film and instants well before digital) was that ...
He also refused to shoot any instant film and.or refused to use any light-metering for nautral-light light why? because he'd been doing-that-long on both large and medium format film ...
that he could perfectly expose with his "in-build sense of calibration", it drove clients to always complain, but always with amusement and total wonder how the hell the guy pulled it of to perfect each and everytime!
Perhaps the delights of being considered just another freak, odd-ball and mis-fit with some frightfully-odd skills!

By the time I think it would take me work out how to turn on and select navigate through the menus in a "mirror-less" we could have all wrapped up the flash-based studio studio-session and had gone for afternon-tea!!

"Very exacting clients" is a wonderful phrase - which will no doubt involve work, perhaps lots and lots of it!!
Can imagine that "Coca Cola red " is perhaps a very distinct-colour that inks "may variy" depending on the how it dries on certain papers and finishes too!!
Must have been an interesting-curve ball to deal with too!

The thing is with 'equipment-snobbery' is ... always make sure you know how to use it!
And it makes you wonder
