I'm quite impressed by the positive feedback about the new XCD 20-35 zoom. It makes me want a very wide-angle lens, but on a tighter budget.
Which lenses (around 15 to 20mm, without to much distortion, not a fish-eye) from another brand (Leica R, Canon, etc.) could provide excellent results (colorimetry, airiness between shots, sharpness, etc. Hasselblad, in fact ) with an X2D (sold, but the X2DII will soon replace it )?

The Voightländer 15mm ultra-wide, 12mm hyper-wide, and 10mm ridiculously-wide FF M mount lenses work without distortion, but with some vignetting. At the totally silly 10mm focal length, the lens hood would need to be removed - with a saw.

But the XCD 21 isn't wide enough? I mean, it's pretty damn wide. I know 20mm has crept into the zoom range of Fuji and Hassy lenses, but that 21 was a huge leap and still a marvelous performer.

I can agree with that. The xcd21 is the lens that has surprised me the most.

The only lens I've adapted to the X2D so far is a shaved Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye, which converts to a radial fisheye on the X2D.

Otherwise, I avoid adapting because I prefer to avoid the electronic shutter.

I have the XCD25V which is wonderful. For wider landscape work you'll find the XCD21P just fine... but I didn't find mine so sharp, which is why it became the 25v

Have used the CV 15mm III w Leica->X adapter. The far out corners are otherwise too soft, w vignetting, so go either pano or square crop, and it's fine. Cheap too!
