I have an issue with the slippery front dial on the standard 907x. I have a moon edition with a black and grippier front dial. The applied chrome makes the dial slippery and hard to turn on the regular 907x. How do you handle it?

Perhaps Hasselblad would replace your chrome control wheel with a black version like the one you have on your moon edition. You could ask their service department if that's an option.

The other thought, which immediately comes to mind, is that you might be able to find a rubber washer that fits securely over the control wheel. They come in a great many sizes and you can buy assorted packs to try from a variety of sources. Here's one example... 50 Pcs Rubber Washers Assortment Kit 16/18/20/25/30mm (5 Sizes)... but there are many others you can find online.

Might be worth a trip to the hardware store to see what they have, like some flexible tubing perhaps, which fits snuggly over the wheel and can be trimmed to the desired fit.

I agree completely. I bought a few epdm rubber bands - can't remember which one I ultimately used (see photo). For the front dial, I added some double stick tape - the dial is tapered and the band would shoot off without it. I also use a band around the 907x, holes cut around the strap eyelets, no tape, as I like to hold the camera with one hand (strap is wound around my wrist). I added an o-ring around the second function button.

Wow, how about we start a new thread of how we improve upon out 10000$ camera's design by adding a few black rubber bands?

I have one around the card door, as I keep on opening the flap when I pull the camera out of my bag. I only use the internal memory, but kind of hesitate to superglue it.

Yeah mine very slippery so i have to pinch and twist the dial.. worse is if i need to keep pressing the function button

It would be great if Hasselblad would allow more customisation of this button and dial. I would much prefer having exposure compensation on the dial without pressing the button. Or being able to use the button as exposure lock.

Only the grip brings "normal" handling with the same function buttons on the same place as on X1D or X2D

Try a little WD40 around the collar. I have had the same issue and this worked for me. Use with appropriate caution. WD40 or similar is supposed to reduce the friction.

Before now everyone jumps up and down: it works since almost a year now and no, you cannot see WD40 drops on the sensor  8)

Thanks, I will try it out. Probably best applied with 907x removed from the back :).

It did not help.

Sorry to hear - I have no issues anymore since.
