And for the record, no, I don't care about the free ones although giving away #1000 seems like a misstep.

I am not interested in the Earth Explorer Set for the following reasons:

- I already have an X2D,
- I have the X2D for photography, not for collecting,
- I like the anthracite better than the brown-green,
- I am not prepared to pay this extra for a color and a limited number,
- I am not interested in the 55mm from the set.

Yes. I wanted a second body, and like that the second one looks different. Also, the lenses seem to have a bit less rotational play with the new X2D than with my first one, which was one of the first to be delivered in the USA.

Yep, I bought one. It arrived two days ago. It's absolutely gorgeous. I didn't buy it as a collectible however. Electronic goods usually depreciate in value. I bought it to use.

Addressing some of the previous comments:

• I already have an X2D (which I will likely sell),
• I have the Earth Explorer X2D for photography, not for collecting,
• I like the Tundra Brown better than black,
• I was prepared to pay extra for a color and a limited number,
• I am interested in the 55mm from the set (and will sell the nearly new 55mm that I already have),
  
• I spend money on my hobbies and don't judge the spending of others.
  

I'm not bothered by Hasselblad giving some units to YouTubers. It's targeted advertising pure and simple in today's world of video advertising on social media. And it's cheap.

I already had the 55mm. The one in the kit is slightly better than my original, well used, copy, for some reason. I do mean slightly. But it's there.

I was going to sell a body and the 55 (I have three now) but K has said she wants to try it. So I've set her up with a small kit. 28, 38, 55, and the older 90. I know she likes the files but I reckon it's 50/50 if she'll keep the camera. Possibly, she'll settle on just a couple of lenses. If she doesn't like it I'll get my 28mm back.

congrats Gordon on the earth explorer. price is jacked up for nz, under the new(old) dealer CRK now. 26k nzd.

Its a good to have for me but given the availability(and price difference) i am not getting it.

Special editions are always easier to resell. But I bought it to use it. I love these colors.

I love the X2D, it has everything I always expected from Nikon and never had. It only has the essentials, and it's perfect. The AF is not fast and may not suit everyone, but for my use it is more than enough. I hesitated for a long time with Leica, which has a very large and excellent range of optics, but from my point of view Hassel is better in terms of camera body

I paid mine since i thought i was ready to commit myself to hasselblad, i had a used X2D, it was flawless for over a year prior, enjoyed so much that i invested in cfv100c considering its smaller form factor and i could pair with my 503cw

There comes the tundra, was told some weeks before it was leak, my mind fighting, i liked the black, but i love a tundra safariish color 😋, the rest is history
