Good evening all,

I am finding the strap that comes with the camera quite fiddly. Has anyone found a non-Hasselblad strap that seamlessly works with the camera?

Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Paul

Because I don't trust the lugs connection, I decided to use a Berlebach Speedy (with the appropriate carrying strap) that I can clamp to the Peidro Arca plate.

I like RRS plate with QD strap.

Good morning,

Thanks for your input. I was hoping for something more like a wrist strap but interesting to go through the Berlebach site.

You can also attach the lugs of the included strap to (almost) any commercially available strap.

Originally I had planned to use an Eddycam strap for this. I have had good experiences with the wide and long versions on my heavy Nikons.

I've never dropped a baby or a camera, and straps get in the way. When I do need one for the extra hand it provides, I go sling-type. Blackrapid or Sun-sniper. The latter actually has a lock on the camera connector that prevents it from coming loose unintentionally. I particularly like using them to hold a long lens by the lens foot. Then I can swap out to a wide angle lens and leave the telephoto hanging for easy access.

But all of these introduce extra points of failure, and I don't trust them without a hand on the camera at all times.

I've discovered the very high quality, strong and supple Water-Buffalo Leather straps made by Harry Benz who is a very skilled artisan. His stitching and leather work are sublime. I use his straps on of all my cameras.
Harry can also provide Hasselblad Buckle straps like this one he recently made for me.

If anyone is interested.

Using a peak design standard plate and 2 anchors with their slide strap.

Not ideal as both anchors are attached to the plate. Wish there's a way to attach a peak design anchor to one of the lugs.

Thought about attaching an anchor to the original strap lug but didn't want the constant turning of the lug mar the finish.

I used to say the same thing and after 30+ years I was hiking in Montana, tripped and almost lost the X2D 10 days after buying it. I saved it, got a bit scratched up and have been looking for a strap solution that allows me to use the tripod plate and side holder without detaching anything for use/mounting.

I don't trust the Hasselblad X2D style lugs and straps on them have come off in my experience. I always attach a wrist strap to a base plate that I purchased for the X2D and that gives me a sense of security. I still use a neck strap attached to the horrible lugs, but never by itself.  If there is one thing that I wish Hasselblad did differently, it is the lugs on the side of the camera.

I saw this braided leather wrist strap in an early X2D review by Matt Granger and liked it.  So I sent off for one and got it.  Soft and strong.  It works.  Currently out of stock but when something sells that well it usually is back in stock after a while.

So many choices... Personally, I don't mind the original strap and I have had zero problems with it. When I am out and about primarily to shoot (instead of walk around when I use the neck strap) I use the BlackRapid wrist strap and it is just great. I like the fact that the attachment to the body is exceptionally strong compared to most and that it does not get in the way (i.e. attaching to the side lug as well). But as with cameras, ymmv, or different strokes for different folks:)

How do you configure a Rock and Roll strap to the X2d? Did you use a PD connector to a bottom plate on the camera or the Black Rapid FR5 connector to the tripod thread? How was the end of the strap configured? Did in have the Peak design adapter or just a split ring? Thanks

What kind/ brand of strap is that you are using?
