Lens repair advice needed

My xcd 35-75mm lens is not working on manual mode, autofocus no problem. Last september the lens was one year old. Shuttercount will probably be less then 300. I got a quote for repair from nearly €1000 from Hasselblad Sweden. For me this is not acceptable for an "as new" hardly used lens from a professional company as Hasselblad. Can anyone recommend on this situation in order to avoid this cost because I don't feel responsible for it as having caused the problem.

I'm sorry for your lens man, my second hand XCD 120mm (barely used, only 2-3k shutter counts ) has also weird error when shooting except for wide open.
I am having exactly same debate as yours. If the repair cost would be significant, I will just use this lens without repairing.  I can shoot stepping down the lens and it works normally but the error appears each time I shoot so I have to double tap the shutter each time to skip the error screen. I googled this error and almost nothing hit so it might be rare issue too.

As for your case, if it works fine in AF I would just use it without repairing
