exposure metering with manual focus HC lens on X2D

I am using the HC 50 ii (non orange dot) lens on the X2D. This is manual focus only..no problem. However, I use full manual mode with spot metering. Apparently, I cannot move the position of the metering spot on the screen or in the view finder when the camera is fixed. The metering spot is fixed in the center of the screen. This is not great when the camera is set up on the scene on a tripod. Is there some way of doing this? Otherwise I need to move the camera entire camera

 a follow up. On the X1D and the same lens I am able to move the metering point on the back screen with touch. Why not on the X2D?
Am I missing something?
