ALAIN

Good morning,
I'm planning a trip to Norway with my X2D.
My XCD38 will lack a bit of width and my HCD28 might not be bad.
I wonder if I should exchange it for an HCD24.
Which of the 2 offers the best results (not to mention the angle of course)?
See you soon,
Alain (from France)

Hi Alain,
if you do not want to go with XCD lenses (the XCD 21 oder 30 would be excellent choices), between HC 28 and HCD 24 I would always choose the HCD 24 because of its outstanding image quality. I had both lenses and always liked the 24 *much* better. (With the required adapter, the kit becomes rather big and heavy, though.)

Hi Mar-Ko,
Oh, thank you, it's clear. If some body need big aperture, my 28 is fine ! But for me, the angle is more important than aperture for my travel, so I search to exchange my HCD28 for a HCD24 (the version is not important : AF is not necessary for that) ;)
Best regards,
Alain

In your case you have to use the HCD with the 0.8x converter and not just the adapter.

I am convinced that XCD lenses remains sharper than HCD (I use the XCD21 and HCD28) and XCD's are really more convenient to travel

Sell your HCD28 and buy the XCD21... tu ne le regretteras pas!

Thank you beaucoup à tous.
I try to sell my HCD28 and I search a XCD21 second hand... ;)

Good idea! Especially for traveling, the XCD 21 is a gem! It is really incredibly good and not heavy at all!
