Highlight/shadow settings

Hi All.

The highlight and shadow setting in FC used to be 10 for shadows and 247 for highlights. However I've noticed that in Phocus, the settings are 254 for highlights and 1 for shadows. I am tempted to increase the shadow value and decrease the highlight, to ensure keeping printable information. Has anybody changed these setting? If to, to what and why?
I realize that there are many variable in the print process that affect what these setting should be, but I would have thought that a tonal range of 1>254 was rather generous.

I'm with you Ralph.
Not sure why the defaults were changed but I would think something like 250>5 would be a better bet.

For press I'd typically aim around 3>252.
