X2D EVF too bright?

I have limited EVF experience but I find the image as shown by the EVF is way too bright. Even when I turn the brightness to a minimum I still think the image is too bright. Especial when the light is getting darker. It seems that the ECF tries to overcompensate.

What is your experience with the EVF of the X2D.
