has anyone tried the xpan/TC-1 30mm with the x2d?  Any smearing at the edges?
thanks

I've used the XPan 30 a fair bit on the X1D and would say the results are acceptable, as was the 45. I found the best results were achieved at f11 with some careful focusing. But since the 30 is now worth £3-£4000 I sold it and bought the XCD zoom.

I have used all 3 XPan lenses. They have a different rendering to their XCD counterpart, not objectively worse or better. Also possibly a touch less clinically sharp, but that may also have something to do with manual focus and electronic shutter.

Personally I find the electronic shutter very restricting, but that might be down to the type of photography I do.  Certainly the XPan trio are fabulous optics. And the correction profiles in Phocus are very good.

And that default processing for XCD lenses has sharpening turned up rather high.
