I am thinking of buying the new XV lenses.

So my thinking is:

Buy the new 2,5/55
Selling 1,9/80. Nearly the same aperture, and a lot less weight.

Buy 2,5/38
Selling 45p, 3.5/45 and my 30 lens

Keeping, 21, 120 and 135 lenses.

Does this make sense? I guess i will miss something around 90 but i am ordering the new one eventually.

My experience is that XCD 120 has the worst AF, as for macro I shoot static subjecTs I use an adapted Mamiya 80 Macro, much more compact with excellent sharpness

How do you like your 21?

When I look (especially on the right / upper side) at this example of a 55V shot

I am not so sure, if it is smart to "blindly" swap the old XCD lenses for the new ones. My gut feeling is, that a 45P or a 65 would have rendered that shot a little more pleasing.

You are right !! This picture and its "bokeh" is awful, especially at the top right and left corners. I guess we must wait for other pictures before judging the quality of the XCD55V.

I love it! It's a masterpiece. But i can find me in situations where i think it's " a little to much" So my 30 mm is quite much used also.

For me lenses are like wines.

I am not able to buy some without having tasted it by myself

I think swap 80 with 55 is quite a bit different in focal length, plus the aparture - I dont believe you will get the same rendering with the 55 like the 80/1.9.

So I think 55 could maybe replace 45 and 65, but not the 80/1.8

Or 38 could maybe replace 30 and 45.

I now own 21,30,45,65,80,90
I could see how I would change to 21,30,55,80 or 90
or to 21,38,65,90.

(But I need a body first, and make up my mind between x1dii and x2d)
