"do anything" ? you mean don't work anymore? ...

(likely all) Early X1D have temperamental scroll wheels and release button (bad control boards: need to be replaced = requires a trip to the mothership); buy one still with a warranty! (I don't know how much it would cost without warranty. 'frankly they should have proposed a recall!)

I had to sent my X1D 4116 for repair 1 month after buying one (under warranty!)... "desperate" tricks like the secret service menu "adjust wheels" didn't help (especially for the release button not releasing 1 out of 2 times )

Problem solved thanks to the explanation of a procedure by a Hasselblad repairer, but impossible to guess yourself.
