Viewfinder zoomed-in bubble

On the X1D I would love to have an option to have a central bubble in the viewfinder that is zoomed-in to 50 or 100% to fine tune focussing while being able to frame the picture at the same time. A bit like a range-finder only better! I would think this could be done with a firmware update to all models.
