Hello,

I'm a bit confused of what it takes a H3D 39 to use a 6x4.5 film back.
Usually there is the viewfinder HVD 90x attached. Do I need to get the HV 90x to see the full 6x4.5 frame?
Do I need to get a new groundglass? or is the gloundglass large enough to cover the full analog frame?

Or is it a better idea to get a cheap H1?

If you use a regular H3D 39 and not the H3DII 39 then you are fine to attach the film back directly. The H3DII models do not support film backs.

I knew that but do I have to get a new viewfinder and/or groundglass to see 100% of my 6x4.5 frame?

The standard HS groundglass is fine, the HV90x shows 100% of the 6x4.5 film area, the HVD90x gives a little cropping due to the larger magnification (3.1x vs. 2.7x). You can use as well the HVD90II which will cover the full film area, but was originally used for larger sensors like 60mp and 100mp.

Ok, thank you Stefan! That was the answer I was looking for :)
