When I export a file for photoshop layer I get this message that you need to export at least two layers. To date, I select two files and export them as two layers. However I do not understand the need for exporting two layers, one could also add layers in photoshop.

Can anyone explain me why phocus wants me to export two layers does anyone know a way around?

thx Aik

Just export as TIFF-16. It is equivalent to a single layer PS file.

If for example you are doing focus stacking or exposure bracketing you might want to export 4 files from Phocus into a single layered file in photoshop.

If you want to export a single file to PSD, don't use the file format "PSD As Layers" in the output presets.
Choose PSD or PSD-16 instead.
As Nick said, "PSD as Layers" is meant for combining multiple files into a single layered PSD file.
Works great for pano's, by the way.

I found out the reason for the confusion. The output profiles "PSD" and "PSD-16" have been omitted in Phocus 3. The capability is still there, so it is trivial to recreate them, but they are not present by default.
