Once CF card used in Canon won't then work in H4D-40

I was wondering if there may be a solution to a problem I've encountered. If I use a CF card, (ScanDisk Extreme Pro 16GB or Lexar Professional 1000X 16GB), in one of my Canon cameras, it won't then work in my H4D-40. I've tried formatting the card on the PC, fat32, as well as in the Canon camera, but still no good.

Is this just the way it is??

Thanks!

I guess there is still something left on the card. You should try a deep format and maybe a data wipe to be sure. If you are on a PC, the software C Cleaner is good for disc wiping and many other things too.

I see that there is now a Mac version but I haven't tried it.

I always avoid formatting the CF cards on the computer.
It never works for me.
Some cards will not be recognised by the Hasselblad cameras.
With the H4D-50, all cards are readable and writable between camera platforms.
I use H4D-50 and the 5D MKII and they are all working. Sandisks and Lexars.
Is there a way of restoring the card to the initial set up?

Please try not to use CF cards between cameras. I know of a situation where irreplaceable images on a CF card used in a H4D where overwritten when that same card was put in a Cakon, the second camera did not see the first images and wrote over them. We were only able to retrieve 50% of the images for the unlucky guy.  :P

Thank you for your help! Will keep cards separate from now on!
