intermittent view finder display H2D39

hi all,
i've recently noticed that our two H2D39's have developed a very annoying glitch.
the LCD display in the viewfinder (HV 90X fullframe style) doesn't always work. when turning the camera on, 2/3 of the time the LCD lights up but doesn't display anything.
if you do any combination of the obvious troubleshooting things (remove and reattach viewfinder, remove and reattach grip battery, etc) the next time you start up the display will be fine... but switch the camera on and off a couple more times and it'll stop working.

we recently had the firmware of these cameras updated they read out:
Body: 2.0.1
15.0.0
Mag: 2.9.0
VF: 6.6.0
Lens: 13.0.0
(i have a 150mm lens on at the moment of writing this, but same fault happens with others)

any ideas anyone ?

i would assume a fault with the viewfinder (HV90X), but it appears to be happening to both cameras.

I'd say it's almost certainly the contacts between the viewfinder and body. Sometime the viewfinder can be a little reluctant to lock completely down and this will cause the behavior you describe. I suggest cleaning contacts and making sure the finder is locking down all the way.
