H1.7X and CF adaptor

Can these be used together on H3DII-31?

I have the CF adaptor and a 180mm/4 Zeiss lens. I intend to buy the H1.7X if the setup works.

For anyone else interested in the answer, other than myself:

It has been replied in another forum (getdpi.com) that it does NOT work.

One needs to use V series 1.4 or 2X converter coupled to the CF adaptor to use the V series lens.
