I have not been able to locate any information in the user manual or in the forum, can you please advise the largest size of CF card that can be used with this camera.

I had to use my existing 16GB cards (Transcend 16 GB 133X) and the camera asked to format, and eventually I ended up with 8 GB space. (Vista shows that the rest is an unallocated section). Therefore, is this (8 GB) the max. size, or was that a problem with this card only. Before investing in Sandisk IV 16 GB, I need to know.

I would be happy to learn from actual users also, if they have used 16GB or bigger cards.

I've recently bought some sundisk 8GB cards.
They work fine on the readers, on the canon but won't be recognized by the H2D39.

In an other forum, people are testing the 16GB Sandisk IV. They will let me know whether it works shortly. I will report here then.

I tried Transcend 16GB 300x cards in my HD3II39 and it only formats them out to 8GB. :-[

16 gig Sandisk Extreme IVs work to full capacity, as does 16 Extreme IIIs and 12 gig Extreme IIIs.

A possible note of caution. I was doing a shoot (H3D 39 MkI tehered for test shots and then to to a Sandisk 12GB Extreme III) and had an issue with some of the images on the card.

(More examples at www.kingbridge.co.uk/magenta)
Had around 7 images in quick succession like this, somwehere near 4G into the card (which I eventually filled). It may be related to a low battery I had around that time, but as I was only checking the tehered shots and then only some on the back, I can't be certain. I didn't spot the issue until I got back to the UK. However, I also got one image with lines on it a couple of hours later when the battery had been replaced and was defintely good. Never had this issue tethered (the usual way I shoot), nor on my more usual card of choice the 4G Extreme IV. I don't suspect a fault in the card (yet!) as that 12G card had worked flawlessly in my 1DSMkII for months and I downloaded from it without an issue. I've shot a couple more shoots to my 4G cards since, as well as done a couple of big tethered shoots and all's well. However, the body and card (with the images still on it) have now been requested by Denmark for futher investigations.
