Is any one Having this problem as well?

We've just upgraded our Mac books to the latest Mac book pro 17" and are finding it impossible to shoot tethered with out the connection constantly dropping out.

The latest Mac book pros only have FW800 connections.

I've tried changing the cable. Its a problem that seems to have got progressively worse, dropping out once or twice a shoot until today, when the camera refused to communicate at all with the laptop.

I had initially thought it could be a damaged fire wire connection in the camera but it connects and shoots tethered with no problems on our older mac book pro with both FW400 and FW800 ports and cables.

Does anyone have any solutions / suggestions?

thanks

There was a problem with firewire that was fixed with the latest firmware R267. Mine works fine on a new mac pro15 with Phocus 2.5.5.

Yes, try the latest firmware first. If that does not work out try either a so-called Lindy cable or a powered firewire repeater.
