Does Phocus take advantage of the Quad processors power?  Would this speed up processing of files?   Would it also help generate quicker previews even though the software relies heavily on the graphics card(s)?

Thanks,
Bob

It certainly does, activity monitor shoes all 8 processors maxed out when processing a 31MP Image in 13 seconds.

I'm not sure how much the CPU helps here I think as you say preview generation is really down to the GPU.

For what it's worth...I'm PC.

Intel Core(TM)2 Extreme CPU X9650 @ 3Ghz

8Gb RAM

Vista Ultimate 64bit.

220Mb/16bit 39Mp Multi-shot files take 12-13 seconds out of Flexcolour.

The Retouch Artists' Speedtest takes 21 seconds.

Very fast machine and, being a DELL, didn't cost very much.

ps. Now just waiting for CS4 so that my Vista x64 can address all 8Gb of RAM!  :D
