Mirror up with cable release

Posted this earlier on Flexframe so apologies if you're seeing this again.

Is there a way of getting a half press on the cable release to lock the mirror up instead of performing a focus on the H3D? Kind of makes sense doesn't it? For bracketed shots you can then use the interval timer and keep the release pressed to get your exposures with the mirror staying up. There are plenty of times I want to lock the mirror up then wait for the appropriate moment to take my shot. Reaching over to the MUP button each time is clumsy and inconvenient especially if you're 10ft up a step ladder in the wind.

May be I'm missing something. Admittedly I am using an adapted Canon release rather than the Hasselblad so may be the function is there and I don't know about it. I always end up setting the timer to do this which is not ideal as I frequently miss time shots.

Canon 1Ds have a nice feature where if you have the timer and bracketed exposure selected, it takes all three shots automatically in rapid succession (but not with the mirror locked up).
