web color rendering

Has anyone experienced and resolved the discrepancy in the way colors are rendered between photoshop -vs- browser?
Here is a sample screen shot of the same sRGB file in CS4 and firefox.
I assume browsers can't read ICC profiles, but the difference in rendering is significant.

Photoshop always have softer colors and a bit higher dynamic range for me. (Both same bit depth, both sRGB)
I tried to play with profiles, but I guess it's the way Adobe renders images.
Or other viewers don't read color profiles correctly or don't read them at all.

I trust PS and that's what usually prints look like.
