Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade from my sad old 15" PowerBook G4 1.25Ghz, it just doesn't cut it anymore shooting tethered.

Need something portable for operating on location as well as studio and with a fair bit of processing power. Have been weighing up the pro&cons between 15" macbook pro, 17" macbook pro and of course the new fast iMacs. One other option would be to buy a monitor and use with laptop I guess.
Have mainly been using 15" laptops to operate on location shoots up until now.

I would be very interested to hear what photographers prefer to work with?

Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Matt

Personally I think the 17" is a bit big for location work. The extra screen resolution would be nice of course but you can definitely get by with the 15 even though it's a bit small if you shoot mostly portrait.

I find for my duff eyesight that the resolution is a bit squint making on the 17".

I think a 15" is better with an additional monitor - at least you could get a better calibration on it?
