i already have a X2d and will buy a CFV for my 500 ( i shoot a lot and film is too expensive )

i think the CFV ii 50c will be enough, related to old generation optics.

when i use my X2D with old lens, i only use the zoom function, better than focus peaking.

Are there people who have upgraded from 50cii to 100c ? Is there a real interest in moving to the 100c for the 500 ?

I didn't upgrade the 50c to 100c because the 100c main benefits  like better AF and Flash TTL are inactive on the V system camera, (they only matter for a 907X configuration)

One benefit of the 50C is the faster readout time for elec shutter - the 100C is slower and thus less easily used for hand holding (not that its always wonderful, but it is usable on the 50C). To make the 100C better, it is said best to reduce it to 14 bits.

The scan time for the 50C electronic shutter is about 300 mS (~ 1/3 sec.), for the 100C about 400 ms (~ 1/2.5 sec.) in 16 bit mode and 170 mS (~ 1/6 sec.) in 14 bit mode.

Jim Kasson measured exact values for the X2D (same sensor):

Fuji has frame rate of 7fps at 12 bit, why Hasselblad does not keep up with it as it has the same sensor? or better 5fps at 14 bit?

You can only do what the Sony sensor is capable of. 12 bit ? That is a no go.

I agree that 12bits is too restricting, but 14 bits is enough for most situations and having a higher frame rate is often better than the ultimate DR like when doing focus bracketing or chasing a bird.

In all my testing, 14 bits delivers as much DR as 16 bits.

The native 14bit 50C sensor is interpolated by Hasselblad to 16bit RAW files, that are very close to native 16bit sensors
