It is now over a month that a firmware update has been released to solve this with the newer backs. Still not for the 39's. I am now over an hour busy trying to connect my freaking 39MS to my MacPro after having the bugger crash several times on me.

This is starting to really piss me off by now. I think it is time this issue gets resolved also for things besides the newer 50's and 60's. My 39MS is almost unusable with the current Phocus :( And no, repeaters and Lindy cables do not always work. This is getting disconcerting. I don't know how much time I have lost the last year over this issue but it is quickly getting to the phase it is unacceptable.

What Firewire problem? Our H3D-39 II has been working just fine on all versions of Phocus... What is the problem that you're having?

It is a known problem with the stability of the firewire protocol. Especially noticeable with the new MBP's but also the MacPro's. The latest firmware for the 50's and 60's deal with it but for the moment this firmware has not been released for products other than that.

Most of the time using a firewire repeater or using the external battery (CF back) will solve this but this is only a patch that doesn't always work. It still leaves the platform somewhat unstable. Even so that I sometimes experience the equipment going offline and crashes. Especially during multishot takes.

Not every 39 product suffers equally. My regular CF39 was not affected but the CF39MS heavily...

I have had similar issues with my 22CFH - but I went back to Phocus 2.01 months ago and that works great.
Now I don't even dare to upgrade - will 2.6 deal with these issues?

Jon, that is the one. This one you definitely want on your CF39MS. Mine has been stable again after this firmware update. Only one annoying thing left. This update makes a world of difference especially when you use it with the newer Mac's.

Updated mine - seems to be good with FW.  But what is the last annoying thing left?

Only applies to multishot takes. Cancel a multishot, take a single shot followed by a multishot and Phocus will crash. This will also force you to take the back offline and boot it up again. Bug is known and will be fixed AFAIK. Current solution is not to cancel a multishot ever.
