What spb-ch said is the procedure to reset the spirit level's calibration, which I don't think is what you asked. If I understood your question correctly, to deactivate the spirit level, i.e. to make it disappear from your screens, you simply can cycle through your screen views using the second button from the top (rectangle) on the back of the camera until the spirit level goes away :) Hope this helps, best regards
Vieri
Thank you Vieri ! I got it :)
Question was a bit dummy but less dummy as if I never asked.

Hello KR,
you are very welcome, no such things as dummy questions, and I am always glad to help :) Best regards,
Vieri
Oh yes now I am feeling slightly dummy, Vieri you are of course correct.
Is it possible for the factory spirit level to be "off". I use mine quite a bit but often find when I look at the suggested "level" on the LCD that it cannot be correct, for example when juxtaposing the 1/3 framelines against visible water levels in the view (lake edge, horizon define by the sea). And it is off by a consistent direction and amount, regardless of the scene - which makes me think it's the setting.
(Alternatively I have a slanted view of the world, which is a possibility!).
So if it possible for the factory level to be "off", any suggestions for fixing it? I've already figured out the User setting, and now bring along a separate spirit level to assist in setting it (per scene) when I need to.
Mine was off when I got my X1D. Since it needed the sensor protection Glas to be cleaned as well it had to be sent to hasselbad. They fixed my spirit level calibration as well because I asked them to do so. However it is only correct in the landscape. Portrait orientation is off, but I have no idea if it is supposed to work correctly both ways...
It is easy to calibrate the spirit level (manual page 134). I never use the factory setting for the spirit level.
