Late next week in limited numbers, apparently. I paid for mine today and am in the first batch. Ordered directly from D1 by emailing them. I didn't see it on their website at all either. Was told arrival late next week by D1 Stores today.

It is said that this len has moderate distortion which could be corrected. However I wonder whether this len could be use for portraits that need to be corrected for distortion & if it needs to, how would be final image be? Perfect portrait profiling or slightly distorted still? I asked because for Canon lenses anything from 30mm above is perfect for portrait.

I would imagine the autofocus would also be better on the 25v

I found and bought a thicker and larger product that I bought from Ali.

It fits well with the x battery. 8)

Quote from: davidjiang on May 08, 2024, 03:23:20 AMI just got the 25V in the DJI store in Shanghai, and made a quick comparison with my XCD just in the store, when wide open, the center and side tiny better than 21, corner similar or 21 tiny better. but after f4, it's a killer.
AF is faster, shutter sound like 90V, and can be 1/4000!
But as mahillsc mentioned, 21 is 92 degree vs 82 degree, so I will keep my 21 for a while...
Anyway, quite happy with the 25V.
I will take it to a city walk tomorrow to do more test

Wow, you must've grabbed one of the first ones available. How many do they have in stock?

The MTF charts on Hassy's website looks very similar to the 21mm, but that one is wider. However, the XCD 30 chart still looks flatter - do you happen to have a 30mm to test?

I got the first one of the Xintiandi Flag store😀, they run out of stock in about 30 mins (do not know exactly numbers, but definitely less than 20)

Unfortunately I do not have the 30mm...

The new xcd 25 v lens is slightly lighter (1.3 %) than the older 21 mm. That said, I will keep my 21 mm instead of buying the new 25 v.

Quote from: o2mpx on May 08, 2024, 08:50:19 AMWas surprised to see the announcement this morning and almost ordered one, despite having the 21mm and 28p. But upon checking, the 21mm is 600g vs new 25mm at 592g? Plus the MTF's aren't overwhelmingly better, and FOV less wide for my landscapes, where the wider aperture also isn't critical with most being shot at F8; so GAS subsided and will stick with the 21mm; when light weight is needed, have the 28p at 245g for the bag; so will stick with the 2 lenses for now.

Really puzzled by HB's strategy. Good to make new lenses, but they should be materially improved over the legacy, or provide key motivation to switch. The 25v doesn't weigh materially lighter, nor perform much better, providing less FOV, albeit the programmable button is a good feature, not sure it's compelling enough for existing legacy lens owners; perhaps new owners is the audience if they can't buy the original 21mm.
Ted Forbes claims that 25v is optically better than 21 (distortion, sharpness, vignetting). I have not watched his full review, nor have I any experience with 25v yet:
