Title: Small Horizontal Red Line
Post by: mrkjhn on April 18, 2024, 03:47:59 PM
X1D II w/45. Haven't used the camera for a while and noticed a couple of frames from recent outing with a small thin red horizontal line across the top, about a 3rd of the way down from the top.  Not on every frame but about 2-3 out of 12 shots that day.  I've processed them out and they're retained so it's not a computer screen rendering issue.  Thoughts or experience?

Good news: Stuck row of pixels. May release. May need to be mapped.
Bad news: Sensor has a failed row. Likely will get worse until total sensor failure.

Either way HB needs to look at your camera.

Looking at more of the photos, the line isn't consistent in its position within the frame but it does always run horizontal; sometimes red, sometimes blue.  Inquiry to Hasselblad Support; will update.

UPDATE:  Spoke with customer support / tech @ Hasselblad and recommended first updating the firmware, which I did for both the lens and camera.  So far....I haven't had the issue reappear. While I'm thankful of not having to send my camera overseas, I'm a little perplexed what updating firmware would have to do with it, and would think if it was a firmware issue that the problem would have been more common.  Not complaining...just inquiring and trying to get a better understanding of how these things work.  Fingers crossed for now.
