On top of that, if I am not mistaken, batteries are not accepted in checked-in luggage anymore, for safety reasons.

Any delicate equipment such as cameras & lenses plus laptops are advisable to be brought to the plane rather to cargo hold to avoid rough handling that may cause internal misalignment, damages etc.

X1D/X2D Cameras / Checking luggage
Last post by mjhillsc - Today at 02:26:01 AM
I haven't checked cameras and lenses for years, but am about to do a trip where it would allow me to travel with a bit more (useful) gear. Anybody have recent experience with the XCV system being checked through as luggage (in the proper case)? I'm a bit worried about the X2D IBIS and the shutters in the lenses.

I too have the BR wrist strap. When I git my X2D it was the Adventure Field Kit that ships with a BR strap. But I use the wrist strap normally anyway. I tried the Peak Design for a couple of year. It was fine but I never liked the look, and it felt flimsy, so I went back to BR.

So many choices... Personally, I don't mind the original strap and I have had zero problems with it. When I am out and about primarily to shoot (instead of walk around when I use the neck strap) I use the BlackRapid wrist strap and it is just great. I like the fact that the attachment to the body is exceptionally strong compared to most and that it does not get in the way (i.e. attaching to the side lug as well). But as with cameras, ymmv, or different strokes for different folks:)

The dead cameras.com straps are also hand made leather, and he takes them to screw into the tripod socket, just using the Hasselblad lugs as security.

I have the 0.8 with HC300 on X2D, work well, almost no any impact on infinity shots, for MFD, bit softer on wide open.

I don't trust the Hasselblad X2D style lugs and straps on them have come off in my experience. I always attach a wrist strap to a base plate that I purchased for the X2D and that gives me a sense of security. I still use a neck strap attached to the horrible lugs, but never by itself.  If there is one thing that I wish Hasselblad did differently, it is the lugs on the side of the camera.
