If it's not in the store, how would you order it? A dealer might have surplus stock - unlikely as it seems. I'm only asking as I'm curious as to why you say it's not discontinued. I actually own this lens.

Buy and Sell / WTB - HC Orange Dot
Last post by tristanstudio - May 06, 2024, 09:55:25 PM
I'm looking to buy some HC orange dot lenses to buy.
Preferred in Europe, I'm looking for longer lenses like the 80mm or 100mm but 50mm would work as well.

Please let me know if you have anything to sell.

Where Phocus stores the edits ?
In the fff file.

Is there anything like (Capture One or Lightroom) "catalog" that keeps them?
Fortunately not.

Preferences? Application Support?
?

My experience in Europe is very good. But good for Europe isn't an option. Suggests bias in the vote 😂😂

907X / Re: Back button focus on 907x ...
Last post by JCM-Photos - May 06, 2024, 05:15:30 PM
Yes I only use my 907X with back focus AF, but it needs the grip, no way to make it work without grip.

with Hasselblad X cameras you have to put the body in MF and set AF on the back button, with the 907X on the grip, then it works.

Same story for exposure lock in spot mode and A exposure, its possible only with the grip to set permanent exposure lock with the other back button on the grip.

With these settings I use my X1D and 907X 50C exactly the same way for AF and spot exposure lock with rear wheel exposure correction to place the measured subject spot on the right level.

"The X-series is being attacked from two directions - Fuji 100MP medium format and 61MP 35mm full-frame. If Hasselblad doesn't act in the next 6-9 months, the only X shooters left will be us diehards on this forum."

Neither of these options is really any more compelling than they were when the x2d came out.

I can only state my specific use case, but I recently got an x2d after using a 907 kit for a few years. I really contemplated a used x1d2, but I wanted to get off the tripod more so the ibis was a selling point.
The main drawback is that I can't use my release cord - I truly hate using my phone during my photography. But again, this is for off the tripod. The 100 mp is nice, but 50 is plenty. I print fairly large fairly often. The added detail is cool but honestly makes no difference in the real quality of my work which is about seeing the world not reproducing it in the finest detail.

I work with m10 monochromes for a lot of my other work - which print with detail like a 60 mp sensor or better - and really have never felt a great need for over 40 mp. The hassies are nicer for their color and the range and the user experience. Fuji only can touch one of those. I'd even prefer my beater old m10 over the fujis because even it's 24 mp files print great under most conditions - even there my complaint is more about the range than the resolution. Still a great camera tho.

Just like I am not at all interested in an m11 mono or m12 or whatever the x2d seems mature enough to me that whatever future versions come out probably won't be too compelling for me. The 500 c/m was damn good for a damn long while and this seems the digital equivalent in some ways - at least for those of us who just want a good recording device that makes itself disappear. I'm old school but a camera is still basically just exposure and focus and light sensitive substrate to me. Ibis is the only new thing I find really useful.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your reply, is there a way to remove AF function from the shutter button, so only the AF-on activates AF?

Thanks

Flexcolor, Phocus, and other software. / Phocus 3.8 lost edits
Last post by Orpheus - May 06, 2024, 07:39:02 AM
Hi All
On Mac OS SONOMA, I've experienced that Phocus 3.8 lost my edits for some of the images of a new folder.

My question is:
Where Phocus stores the edits ?
Is there anything like (Capture One or Lightroom) "catalog" that keeps them?
Preferences? Application Support?

I've looked to the manual, searched in the FAQs. Nothing
I was going to write to the Hasselblad Support but seems that there's no software support contact on the website. >:(

Thank you in advance for your help!

Quote from: Nicci on May 01, 2024, 06:33:44 AMHi guys,

I am curious about your experience with Hasselblad support and/or repair service and whether there is a difference between Europe and the States.

Thanks for your participation!

Our camera was bought from B&H, but Hasselblad HQ respect the warranty.. any other shop probably not, but B&H are special. Good to know: so if you buy from B&H you have a choice to sent to USA or EU, whatever is more convenient.

There was some issue with the wheel in X1D-50c, and Hasselblad had a recall. But I did not use that recall option as we managed somehow and Hasselblad made some workarounds in FW updates.

Apparently we had some electronic failure with the motherboard later on, and when I contacted Hasselblad they offered to explore that recall option and to replace the motherboard as well.

So Hasselblad sent me all the paperwork, DHL courier on their behalf, eventually they replaced ~5000 euros components and I paid 400 euros for something that was not covered by warranty. All in all it took around 3 weeks door to door.

Given that I live in Israel and it takes to go through customs it was quite a quick turnaround.
