Hey guys
Can anyone please explain why you can't use the HCD28 and HC35 lenses with the 1.7x converter?
Thanks!
I own both the 28mm HCD & the 1.7 converter. The reason those two will not work together is that the back element of the 28mm lens protrudes enough so that if attached to the 1.7 converter, it would hit the front element of the converter. The 28mm HCD has tabs that prevent connection to the converter thus sparing you from damaging both.

Allyn do you recomend buying the teleconverter to use with the 80mm lens?
Thankyou
The 80mm with 1,7 is about the fastest focussing comination next to the 150mm 3,2. It is sharp, fast and works perfectly balanced for longer shootings.
Juan,
Yes! I use the converter with the 80 mm on backpacking trips. It also works well with the 13 and 26 mm extensions. Putting all four ( 80 + 1.7x + 13 + 26) together provides 1:1 magnification.

Allyn , with this combination how many f stops you loss? Thank you
Juan,
The 1.7x converter costs 1.5 stops. When the two extensions are added, 1 or 1.3 stops is lost. The range in lost stops for the extensions has to do with the focus used (infinity vs 0.7 meters).
Hasselblad has an article about closeups with a set of tables on its Website under Downloads : Technical Information. This gives the stop loss for various combinations of lenses and extensions.
