Title: EVF activation
Post by: asfeir on September 23, 2017, 10:04:18 PM
If you wear eye glasses like me, EVF activation is not always that smooth. Found a new trick, just put your finger on the activation window as you bring the camera to your eyes, the EVF will be on by the time you are looking through the viewfinder.

I wear eye glasses as well, and have to use the same trick covering the EVF sensor with my right thumb when shooting portrait mode. That's the only to turn on the EVF reliably.

Thanks for this tip, I lost a few shots because of no activation of the EVF, those cable trains going faster than you think...

I hope a future firmware give us an option to turn off live view and keep EVF on all the time.  In fast moving situations, this lag is a problem.  I'm willing to burn through more batteries as a trade off.  Thanks for the tip, by the way.

I noticed a huge improvement of activation (with my glasses on) when they released 1.7.1. It appears that this issue is on their radar.
