X1D/X2D Cameras / Re: X2D compared to Leica Q3 f...

Quote from: michael123 on June 01, 2024, 09:31:42 PMWe have Q and X1D, I have now Q3 on order. Leica has its charm, it is lighter, faster, obviously better suited for street photography, no questions about that. IMHO not just street photography

What other genre do you believe the Q cameras are better suited than the X? The Q is faster than the X1D, not sure if is meaningfully faster then the X2D though; it is not a speed demon for sure! Personally, having used variants of both cameras (and price not included, for obvious reasons) I find that the Hasselblad essentially leaves no room for the Leica in my bag! Sure, I miss the occasional macro shot, but that's about  it for me.

X1D/X2D Cameras / Re: Multiple Firmware Updates
Last post by flash - Today at 01:24:41 PM
There's actually only a couple of firmware editions. The main one 0.61 for XCD lenses covers a bunch of lenses. The camera won't let you update a lens if you don't have the correct firmware version on the card.

And yes you can have all the latest firmwares on the card and the camera will load the correct one for the lens you attach.

The lenses / Re: 90V lens oil on shutter bl...

That's exactly how it is. Let's be honest.
Anyone would consider oil on the shutter or aperture blades of a used lens to be a serious defect.

Anyone would probably not buy this lens and if they did, they would only do so at a significant discount.

In the past decades oil emerging from a central shutter always indicated a problem. None of my XCD lenses (not ,,V") has visible oil and none of my other lenses with central shutter have that. Actually I would like to hear an explanation from a Hasselblad engineer why this is no longer a problem if a fast moving shutter sputters oil inside a lens. Unless there is proof that this is not a problem, I would regard that as serious defect.

Ditto for any oil on aperture blades; and if it's on the shutter, it will eventually find its way to them.  I still won't buy an older lens if there's oil present.  They eventually gum up and stick.

Quote from: osroubek on Today at 03:56:35 AMIt does not work when tethered. When Live View is turned on in Phocus, the screen goes dark. You then have to disconnect from the computer and turn off the camera, then back on again to get auto exp simulation to go back to Auto.
That's exacty why I say that "simply incredible for a camera like this... "
Is it possible there isn't someone who tests the software in a real photography studio? With a real job?
Street photography assistant.... really.... oh please.... we had to wait forever for the live view... fix basic stuff first...

Naive question but how do you close the shutter like that?

Of course. Here is a picture of the shutter blades of my 90V.
