Title: WTB: Shims kit for 132C
Post by: FromJapan on April 28, 2009, 05:34:15 PM
I need a shims kit for my 132C. If you've found that you have perfect focus with your camera, and don't need it, I'll be glad to take it off your hands!

Hi Kumar
If you're a tinkerer like me you can make your own shims with acetate, (stiff plastic sheets) it worked for me when I first got a 384.

Thanks, Nick,
Saved a few bucks! ;D

What do the shims look like? Like washers? I assume they go between the adapter and the back, where the screws fit? Do you have a copy of the instructions for the shims?

Thanks,
Kumar

The proper shims are like a gasket in that they go right around the adaptor with holes for the screws/contacts. My home-made ones were just  four strips of plastic (one on each side). I set up a ruler running away from camera to identify where the focus was and with acetate of various thicknesses and a bit of trial and error was able to get the V series perfectly focussed.
