Also new to the Hasselblad world, but maintain the same approach as with my Leica.

Download photos direct from camera to iPad (ipad pro m4 arriving new week!) via Lightroom and edit from there.

I don't use SSD cards anymore or own a computer. And don't quite see value of the phocus app (yet) - same with the Leica app in fact.

Works well for me (hobbyist)

The aperture IS controlled by the front wheel in manual mode. What you describe as your need is already there:)

Quote from: pb on May 12, 2024, 11:01:01 PMHi MGrayson,

Thanks for that. I have tried moving the focusing ring both ways and for a considerable number of turns. There is no change to the image - either becoming less blurry or more blurry. I have also noticed when I put my ear to the lens and turn the zoom ring I hear two clicks - when zooming in it happens at around the 70mm mark, when zooming out it happens around the 40mm mark.

Any advice?

Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Paul
Paul,

Before sending the lens in for repair, try cleaning its electrical contacts. Some people use alcohol, others use a pencil eraser. I'm not sure what the current best practice is.

You need the electronic shutter ON.

X1D/X2D Cameras / Leica lens - Lens Not Detected...
Last post by pb - May 12, 2024, 11:24:11 PM
Good afternoon all,

I have just attached (for the first time) a Leica M lens to the XD2 body using the Novoflex HAX/LEM adapter. On doing so the camera shows a 'No Lens Detected' warning and the live screen is black.

Any advice/suggestions?

Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Paul

This lens is focus-by-wire. The focus ring will turn forever, as it is not physically attached to the focusing mechanism. Did you try turning the ring the other way, too? It might have been maxed out at one end of focus travel, but you'd get no feedback from the focus ring.

(I hate focus-by-wire. Mostly because the response is non-linear. Moving the ring slowly makes extremely fine focus adjustments. You'd think that this was good, but if you overshoot a bit and try to move back, and you move the ring slightly faster, the focus point will jump and you'll have to start over. Rocking back and forth across perfect focus is very difficult.)

Quote from: pb on May 12, 2024, 09:33:41 PMGood morning all,

I have just read this thread with interest. There seems to be a mix between referring to 'DRIVE to infinity' and 'FOCUS on infinity' which, being relatively new to Hasselblad is causing me some confusion. I understand the principle of DRIVE to infinity in relation to focus bracketing.

My question - is there an option within the AF mode to enable the lens to FOCUS on infinity? (Independent of the focus bracketing).

Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Paul
Yes. It's an option under button customization.
