Just letting you know that I've finally organised to upgrade the forum to the latest version with a cleaner look.
This will improve security making the site https and should offer a better all round experience.
You may see the site down for maintenance at some point.

Nice job. I know this is quite a bit more work than many know.

Exactly, which is why I've hired an SMF (Simple Machines Forums) guru to do the upgrade so I don't mess it up :)
Ok we are all updated I will have to go through and reset a few things so bear with me.
I'm afraid we have lost the old "likes" this was a custom mod that does not seem to be compatible with this latest version. "likes are now built in so you'll just have to like afresh :)
There is an issue currently with attachments not showing up, I am on it.
"unread messages since last visit"
is now where?
Under QUICK LINKS.
Is it just me or images no longer show up in posts?
I was wondering why the page looked different..simple machines! Great. My link opened as usual, with unread posts.
Good job Nick

Thanks Patrick
Looks like attachments are back working too.
Also the site is now SSL :)
My profile image disappeared. I'm sure I had one. 😅🤔
I added it easily enough
I'm afraid the avatars could not be brought across to the new version of the board software so you will have to re-upload (under your profile). Sorry for the inconvenience.
New feature
You can now mention people in your posts like this:
@Patrick CM(Patrick let me know if that worked!)
Fine job!
relatively painless for your users. Nicely done !
If you are interested in the differences between the old forum software (2.0.x) and the new one (2.1.x) you can read about it here:

Thank you
@NickT I had an issue posting images just now. I wanted two images, but actually one was repeated and in modify I couldn't figure it out.

@Patrick CM Looks like a glitch, I'll have a look on the SMF support boards. I too tried to modify your post but could only see one image there...
There were two, but it seemed to go wrong here's a screenshot
@NickT the update to the forum looks good ! Nice work, not easy to do. I've been there.
Thank you for continuing this forum !
