Title: Open raw and get same as camera JPG?
Post by: Charles2 on June 11, 2023, 11:45:20 AM
Can Phocus import a .3FR file and be told to apply settings to it that produce the same result as the camera .JPG? Sometimes the .JPG is a great starting point, and while it can be edited for slight changes, it would be good to reach the same result starting from the raw file.

If you mean by selecting a single preset, I are unaware of such a thing.

If you mean by creating a custom setting through the normal user interface, I'm sure you could, although I've never attempted such a thing.

This is a point widely discussed in many forums. It is very difficult to simulate a jpeg SOOC using adjustments or presets applied within a development software. The SOOC jpeg's are, in addition, computed using the camera software, for each of them and differently.
And to conclude, it is far better to interpret each of the pictures you've taken in your way, starting from the RAW.
