With any intervolmeter you will see slight gaps. Even set to 0 on an external style intervolmeter. There are software tools that can be used to close the gaps like "startracer". Requires use of a PC.

I wrote this short article discussing the gaps and how to fix them years ago when I was working the night sky for trails.

X1D/X2D Cameras / X2D compared to Leica Q3 for s...

Do many X2D owners have experience of using a Leica Q3? I was wondering how much quicker the Q3 might be for street photography? Unsure if I should invest in a Q3 carry around as I mainly use the Blad for commercial work.

I did, but it seems the minimum interval between shots is 2 sec? Not sure if there's a way to lower that

One issue is how long it takes the camera to scan the sensor before it's ready to scan again. I've no idea.

There's a case for weighing passengers. After all if one weighs 75kg and another weighs in at 85kg then I'd argue to be able to carry 10kg more!  I know, . I think Air New Zealand tried it somewhat unsuccessfully many years ago.

Funny things begin to happen when I shoot an auto sequence of multiple identical exposures with my X1DII (like in astro photography): random red lines appear in the images. Sometimes the aspect ratio is all messed up. Sometimes there is a weird blotched green background pops in.  Arguably all of this is with the electronic shutter, but still. The system performs flawlessly otherwise: if there is a manual pause between the exposures for example.

The airlines here in Australia are getting quite strict about weight - both carry on and check-in. On my recent return from Melbourne to Sydney, they weighed all the carry on luggage at the check-in gate and had little tolerance for excess weight.  I had to pay AUD$30 to double my cary on allowance from from 7Kg to 14Kg, but did use almost every gram of the extra allowance.  Fortunately it was not that expensive, but can add up for multiple legs of travel.

I have heard from two other members that have exchanged messages with Maxcast and it seems he is indeed a scammer.

If you have been dealing with him I suggest you cease any further contact.

As previously mentioned he is banned.

I'm going to make this topic sticky for a bit to draw attention to it.

*UPDATE*

Definitely a scammer.

The following emails are associated with this scammer:

jasonallan075@gmail.com

Mentioned here:

At the very least google anyone's email wanting you to send them money.

The net result of this is that I will have to tighten up criteria yet again for membership.

The lenses / Re: XCD 28P Released
Last post by dmecham - May 22, 2024, 03:07:27 AM
I purchased the 28P lens from the Hasselblad site 6 hours after it was released.  Were sold out in 2 days.  I already owned the 30 and spent about 2 weeks performing detailed comparisons of their IQ and performance.  About as 2 closely matched lenses I had ever compared.  But in the majority of cases the 28P was slightly better in IQ.  Considering half the size, weight and cost of the 30 and nearly silent shutter I sold the 30.  Even though the 30 was a superb lens.

Quote from: o2mpx on May 19, 2024, 10:52:09 AMIf you're saying despite exporting tiff from Phocus, once the tiff file being edited by another editor, the color is lost, then there's no reason to go through Phocus process, and just run through Lightroom from import to finish end to end.

This is not what I said. I said converting into DNG from Phocus results in a loss in colours. And converting into TIFF from Phocus keeps the colours, but the file is less flexible than RAW as far as adjustments are concerned (e.g. white balance,...).
