Title: 300 dpi or 600 dpi?
Post by: arteisfoto on September 10, 2012, 03:43:02 AM
Hello,

I would like to please know if the settings to print from a H4D31 should be set @ 600 dpi for printing? or should I leave the settings at 300 dpi? My printer isn't a top of the line. I use EPSON Pro 3880. Any thoughts?

You should set  it 360dpi.  Epson printers use this as their native resolution.  Canon uses 300dpi

Epson uses multiples of 90 - so use 360/ 270/ 180/ 90.

This is what I learnt from a master printer:
Open the image in Photoshop> Image> Image Size
At 300 dpi note the number of pixels in either the width of height
Then you need to check the number of pixels at 360 and 270 dpi
Use the [360 or 270] resolution that produces the number of pixels closest to the number of pixels at 300 dpi
Then click on Bicubic Sharper [best for reduction]
Press P
