I have done this test before and can provide the evidence; stay tuned. It looks to me it is inherent to the lens/sensor design, but since I have only one sample maybe somebody else can refute my finding with another pairing of 907X/X1D + 28P and no cast.

BTW: I have perfectly fine real-world landscape shots with this lens stopped down with no (at least to the naked eye) perceptible cast.

I am now on the move, but according to what I read, the best way for me would be to go to my dealer when I am back, and test the lens on my camera (X1D II) in order to see if there is any magenta cast.
Provided that:
1) My dealer has a sample in stock
2) The one I could order won't be faulty....

Scene Calibration for XCD 4/28P at f4 (907X) using white LCC plate:

As I said it some posts above scene calibration (color cast) depends on aperture and focusing distance.

To assess the amount of corner coloration you have to open the calibration file
1 neutralize center color
2 place the eye dropper at a corner and measure the RGB deviation
Sharpen your eyes not your files

Does anyone know when the next production batch will be available?  I arrived late on the Hasselblad digital scene and would like this lens as my all purpose wide angle similar to the 21/3.4 M Super Elmar.

I was told March by my local stockist. How accurate that is by Hasselblad standards... who knows!

Frankfurt with the 907X.

Anyone sees a magenta cast?

Yes, have a closer look to the clouds on the right hand side. Could be in the clouds but they seem to get more blueish. Do the same scene with a LCC plate.

Tennisarm12

Sure ::) In my next life I'll do.

Now that it is March, has anyone heard from their dealers regarding lens availabiltiy?

SMurphy

As of last week my dealer in Montreal, Canada had a demo copy only (i.e. not for sale).

They also had a demo XCD38V (or was it the 55?), a XCD 90V, a couple of used XCD lenses, but no new inventory that I could see.

Thanks.  That's quite a wait.  Hopefully more will become available.  I am going on a trip at the end of June so will try to get one.

Has anyone owning the 21mm:

1. completely moved to the new 28mm
2. kept both, or
3. staying with the 21mm after trying the 28mm?
