Thanks Alex! I made the same sujet with the 35-90 and nearly same conditions, absolute no purple... My 80mm was no for long time with the camera in Scandinavia, but I will try again when the situation will be the same.

I like the 80 wide open by 2.8 availablelightsituations, I think it`s one of the best near the 100 2,2. TOP!

Hi guys,
I'm a very new owner of a H3dII-39 with 80 and 35 lenses. Before I got the camera and lenses i read a lot about lenses and wanted to have just the best, the sharpest lens available. But budget is quite tight and so "only" 80 and 35 were there.

The 80mm is just super super nice at 5,6!! WOW so sharp its unbelievable. but also very usable at 2,8 already. For distance shots i find 2,8 very sharp and for the closest focus, I think 0,7meter, there is a visible improvement from 2,8 to 5,6. Resolution increasment!
I find both lenses get less sharper if i use them above f8.

so I am reaaaly curios about the HDC 35-90 that i wanted to buy fist. Because I heard that it should be even more sharper! I can't imagine but... I'll see.

cheers, Martin

For the following test, I took a series of pictures at the end of a field with the camera slanted so that the horizon goes from corner to corner. Then I rotated the pictures and cut a small strip from corner to centre. The idea is to test the lens best aperture for a landscape picture.
