Title: Lens conformity question
Post by: Buddy on April 15, 2016, 03:56:57 AM
Will the HCD 28mm and 35-90mm work on the new larger sensors as in the new H6D-100?

There is a warning in the datasheet of these current H lenses that these lenses are optimized for 37x49mm and will not cover film size (41x56mm), but the new 100 Mpix sensor is 40x54mm, thus slightly smaller than film size but considerably bigger than the recommended max digital format.

What might be the implication of this?
Would one with the new "monster cam" have to sell the 28 and/or 35-90 and invest into the 35mm and/or 50-110?

Thanks for suggestions!

You'll get dark extreme corners with the HCD 28mm, but the camera can crop them automatically. Same for the 35-90mm under about 40mm.

I use often the 24mm and 35-90mm without problems. At 24mm sometimes you can see a little vignetting but no problem in real life. Don't use the sun shade with the 24mm.
