Title: Firewire 400/ Thunderbolt Adapter
Post by: brian on August 18, 2016, 12:50:33 PM
I am using a H4D/50 and I have the usual firewire 400 cables [at both ends].

My new Apple laptop only has Thunderbolt or standard USB ports.

I need an adapter to connect the Firewire 400 from the Hasselblad to the Thunderbolt port in my Apple. Can anyone let me know where I can find such a device?

If computers are moving away from Firewire ports surely Hasselblad must have solutions for this problem?

Brian,

After researching this problem, I have found what may be a solution.  I have  not tried it yet, but it looks promising.  Before trying, I would contact MacSales and inquire if this may be a solution for you, based on your equipment.

Wait you have FW800 I think? I use the mac thunderbolt/FW800 adaptor and it works perfectly, all day every day.

Nick, thank you for correcting me - its a Firewire 800 not 400 - so the 800/thunderbolt adapter will work fine. Thanks!
