Quote from: acg69 on May 24, 2024, 11:12:10 PMIf for some reason I needed a complement to the X2D for a substantially different experience, I would get one of the last 3 variants of the X100. There, the size-weight advantage is clear (the Leica is a tank!) and it is the quintessential street camera, if that's your thing.
Interesting. For what it's worth, I had an X100s (2nd generation) bought new in 2013. It followed my Rolleiflex, which went everywhere with me until that point :D I have used the X100s quite extensively for traveling since and loved it! It has now been replaced by the X2D + 45P (or 65) combo. If I needed/wanted something smaller today, I'd also consider the Ricoh GR IIIx. When not flying I still prefer film, either the above-mentioned Rolleiflex, Makina 67, or Nikon F3 + 40mm. My concern is bringing film through airport security.

I purchased a Ricoh GR3 last year, and while I definitely enjoyed the smaller size and compactness of it all, I have found that I use it less and less and am using the X2D exclusively now.  The X2D, while certainly much bigger and heavier, has just so much better image quality, and better image stabilisation that it is my only camera to use when I plan to take pictures.  The Ricoh GR 3 fills the gap when I don't plan to take pictures, and I have it along "just in case", but then my iPhone fills that gap too

Quote from: Jgregg on May 28, 2024, 06:26:53 PMI am a fan of the Peak Design straps and quick attachment loops, but I wonder how those thin loops would wear on the HB clips, which seem more sharp edged than other camera split rings etc. Anyone had experience of using for a long period?

That seems a bit scary to me too. Another user has posted a photo of that set-up if you haven't seen it.

by the way: which is yours wrist strap? ;D

It's made by Harry Benz and it's really well made and works perfectly too.
You can view and read about it here in this post:

Hi,

I'm using the Peak Design straps now for more than 1 year, very satisfied. There have been no failures so far and I'm using the camera almost every day.

Hope this helps.

I think you will find that the two seconds delay you have shown in your screen shot refers to the 'initial delay' thats at the begining of the sequence of exposures, so like using a self timer to let the camera settle down after setting the shutter.

When i tried it the interval seemed to be just the time the shutter took to open and close for each exposure probably about a second at most.
I haven't tried it with the electronic shutter so that could be less, but as some one pointed out there will allways be a gap, just whether you can see it or not in the image.

the issue for me is that the X2D does not have lugs (loops if you will) bit those tags that the strange Hasselblad connectors attach to. As a result, I use a connector to the tripod screw hole and only use the Hasselblad tag as security.
