Sony developed a MF global shutter sensor some years ago https://petapixel.com/2021/03/09/sony-has-developed-a-128mp-global-shutter-medium-format-sensor/ and if one eliminates some of its extra width to 44x33 it would be still around 120MP (not that I need more than 50MP). And Sony is not the only sensor manufacturer developing global shutter sensors but import is that there are no penalties in image quality like color accuracy and DR.
Leica's S-system had some lenses with or without central shutter, without lighter and less expensive. So Hasselblad could do the same.

OK, that's right. But unfortunately the Leica S system has been discontinued.

Thank you, I didn't know that!

Quote from: dece on July 13, 2022, 02:13:59 AMI don't know, you'll have to find the service manuals
(I think I've read somewhere that old? 500(C) didn't have it ... 'not sure)

The manual is here: https://galerie-photo.com/manuels/hasselblad-500-503cw.pdf

The Hasselblad tools needed for proper focusing screen adjustment are:
V-2229 Focal length gauge
V-2236 Microscope
V-4151/52 Focusing tester
V-4704 Key
V-4705 Focusing screen adapter

Does anyone here know where to obtain the key V-4704? Would be very helpful.

Quote from: Ralf on May 17, 2024, 07:37:45 PMI don't see there being a global shutter for a 44x33 100 MPIX sensor in the foreseeable future.

It however appears that the 128 MP global shutter sensor that Sony now has, exhibits (surprisingly) a similar dynamic range than the 102 MP in the X2D. The sensor area is slightly larger, but I'd reckon that not to be a major issue.

I really liked the concept of the S3.

Quote from: pb on May 11, 2024, 09:57:30 PMGood morning all,

I have just purchased the XD2 and noticed, when I look at the back screen or through the EVF with the lens cap on, that there are 2 blue pixels on the sensor. I calibrated once this morning but they remain

Hi, I just did the same after having noticed 2 red dots, after calibration they are gone. Now I need to take some pics and check again.

X1D/X2D Cameras / Nikon AF Assist
Last post by pb - May 17, 2024, 08:17:08 PM
Good morning all,

A quick question - can any advise whether the AF assist on the Nikon SB-700 Speedlight works on the X2D?

Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks Etienne,

I am coming to the same conclusion as you. However, Hasselblad has asked for more info which I have provided. I will get back to you when I hear back from them.

Kind regards,

Paul
