Excellent.

I'm glad they are continually updating the camera, since I just acquired mine and good to know it's continually being supported, looking at the version history. I'm hoping Camera config in Phocus comes sooner rather than later.

That's it, leave the most important features until the very last.
Also, no profiles as per the User Manual..when will they be added back?

Seems odd that they would post this under "current firmware." I suspect that there has been considerable pressure to get on with an update and this is their way of saying they have not forgotten us. Certainly a step in the right direction.

At least they're letting us know that they are aware of it and onto it. I appreciate that.

In another thread the Fflm back compatibility , specified in the web site as YES, is apparently not yet "allowed" by firmware with no date to implement. They do seem to have dropped the ball on this release.

along with the X1D?

tough times over there I'm sure, with all the restructuring and the times theyve been through in the last few years. I just got my H6D-50, and I love the camera, but with as capable a camera as it could be, seeing it crippled by lack of timely updates is a little concerning. I hope the updates are delivered once they (mostly) sort out the H1D. I understand the company is a small outfit, so I'll just wait patiently. :p

Well it's good news that something is being done to bring this camera up to the spec of the preceding bodies.

But you know what?  I am loving this new 100MP sensor and as I mostly shoot tethered to a laptop or via wifi I don't really miss a lot of these features.  The best recent news is the upgrade to Phocus Mobile with the histogram now displayed.

Re Phocus Mobile: would be good to have the grid layout transposed over (especially in Live View), so that one doesn't have to keep going back to the main computer.

I have 1.12.1 on mine and I never noticed it until yesterday/today. Seems like it's still an issue.

I had a battery in the camera (about half charged from the previous day's shooting) and went to turn it on today only to find it was completely dead.

Follow this instruction to reset battery on your camera. Take your battery off the camera then hold down two buttons and attach the battery till hearing beeping sound. Just one time resetting. Problem solved!!!

Hi,

i picked up my H6D-50c two weeks ago and it came with firmware 1.12.2 installed already. All i can say
is that the battery isn't draining. My camera was off for a week and the battery still full. The firmware itself is
not (yet) available from HB but new cameras seem to have it installed.

Regards,
Ralf

I made a habit of removing the battery when storing the camera...it's too easy for the camera power button to be depressed while in the bag!
Still waiting for firmware update!
Although the camera has less work-around issues than practically any camera I've used I still wish H would make it "Great Again" HA!

Perhaps our new President can issue an Executive Order to Hasselblad!

Did you see the last firmware update for Fuji XPro 2 and XT-2 now that's an update, they really dug into the firmware!
The major Fuji FW updates have been like that, and it's almost like an entirely new camera, which is awesome -- even the XPro1 was supported even after the Xpro2 release. I've owned the X100s, XT10, XT1, XPro2 and now the X100F and they've all been great little cameras.

Unfortunately, the update did not work for me.Got a new H6D100c yesterday with the firmware 1-12.4 (not available for download on Hasselblad's site). After starting the update process it stopped, and a message on top LCD asked to reinsert the battery. Having battery out even for more than an hour did not help: it starts up, does not recognize cards and stops with error 1000 (system error! please reinsert the battery). Talking to my dealer, looking for a solution.

Regarding the support of tech camera, I just got the answer from Hasselblad Japan. Please refer to pages 164-168 of the latest manual linked below. Power is provided through the DC input socket from an external power bank. One type is confirmed to have been tested but others should work also.

There are 2 modes:
- Flash sync mode for lenses equiped with a flash sync port (the lens controls speed and aperture)
- pinhole mode for lenses not equiped with one (the back controls the shutter speed and triggers the capture on screen)

http://static.hasselblad.com/2016/04/H6D-User-Manual-v1.4-170418.pdf

Sounds like a workable solution to me.

Btw I did not have any issue when I upgraded the firmware of my H6D-100c

Cheers,
Bernard

Appreciate that very much, but my problem is already resolved (with help from Hasselblad). I contacted someone from Hasselblad that I had an email address of. I had a XT power bank and it came with multiple tips to fit different things.

I purchased the XTpower mp-10000 and that has a tip that is a near perfect fit for the h6d back, even better than the one I had with my XTPower mp-32000.

The mp-10000 size is a bit more manageable too.

After a time I started to use the HTS with the HC24D lens on the H6D100 and latest firmwire 1.16.0 with Phocus 3.1.5. Shutter speed works but not the aperture of the lens. This suppose to be arrange with this latest firmware update. Had to use the H4D60 for this job. Does anyone have this trouble?. Could it be reported somehow?? Thanks.

I think there is another problem to be fixed - occasionally i got a message in camera "storage medium full" - while no card inside and I am shooting tethered to Imac. Very annoying - only removing battery helps. I saw this problem on 2 different H6D100 cameras with short and long cables, different Imacs.

IF I were to use my H6 for video, I may possibly be excited about the 1.17.0 firmware update. But I don't. What's with all the video enhancement?

On the otherhand..where is the measured White Balance, Profiles, "traffic light" type selection,  you know, the simple stuff that was unexpectedly taken out of the H6..stuff that I'm sure we all use most of the time unlike the video capabilities of the camera. Stuff that I certainly miss to the point of frustration..like the measured white balance facility that I had in my old H3 and H4.

Oh well, Fuji is starting to looking good now....

Any news of further firmware updates for the H6 yet?

Any clue as to whether we will get a new H6D-100c firmware improving its electronic shutter mode (current pinhole mode) to match the new X1D capability?

Cheers,
Bernard

Is it safe to assume that there will be no further updates for the H6 range? Gone ominously quiet.

I can see why people might think that with all the buzz around the X1D but I can assure you it's not the case, development on the H platform continues apace.

I don't know anything about upcoming firmware though sorry.

Thank's Nick. But, "if" you speak to them, please would you ask about reinstating the measured white balance tool, and the reinstating of Profiles..as mentioned in the H6 user manual? Plus, when will  Phocus mobile be available on Android..again as mentioned in the H6 user manual? Big ask, but much appreciative of any answers you can get out of them.

Hi guys,

The next H6D firmware update is just around the corner. Please stay tuned! ;)

Also, thank you for the feedback regarding the white balance tool, profiles, android app, electronic shutter mode, etc. The R&D team will be noted and the suggestions will be evaluated.

Cheers,
Bro

I am really wondering how Hasselblad is selecting the functions they include in these updates.

Most users would far prefer to have back up function rather than these.

Disappointed.

Bernard

I too am sort of looking to see what was added in this update that is useful. So many things that have been asked for in the past still not making it to the update stage. Makes me wonder why.
